Volume 9
All the news that's fit to print, first!

From the Editor's Desk
A slow news week if I ever saw one. So instead of journalistic endeavours I settled into attempting to destroy Quietscheente every day. Some of my colleagues got lucky, but not me. Luckily, there is always tomorrow.
General News
The exo-crab infestation in Polaris disappeared as quickly as it appeared. Perhaps the huge array of fighters hanging about scared them off. Empire pilots should return home now.
Quallie of Quinto Imperio killed the very first Shadow. Apparently after fighters fired enough shots, they mysteriously started taking effect, allowing Quallie's biospores to remove this menace, previously though unassailable.
eli rob and his tiny Interceptor and The Enigma in his Venom have scheduled a duel to see who is the tougher idiot. Dueling with pirates is never a good idea, they can't be trusted. Good Luck to The Enigma, hopefully your luck turns, or I'll see you on your homeworld.
The Keldon Report - by Frozen
Though Keldana I is the homeworld of the Keldons it isn't very well developed. The planet has so much potential but no one seems to want to use it. Right now it really isn't a nice place to visit: no fuel, high food and water prices, and many pirates... But there is hope... Pilots are starting to invest more time in the development of Keldon. Surely everyone around Keldon knows the name Jwff, although it's a bit strange. A few weeks ago the Keldon pilot built a fuel collector and gave fuel away for free, that helps a lot to solve the fuel problems in Keldon, and this week Technocracy seems to have begun to work on the development of Keldon. Evilbiochemist, the Governor of Keldana I, appears to be the leading head of the development. He is currently looking for traders that want to help, interested pilots should PM him. This is just the beginning, many more things will happen in Keldon and we will keep you informed... Soon Keldon will shine again..
Keldon is a cluster full of opportunities. A great opportunity for traders to make money has just opened up at The Chocobo Ranch. The Starbase is selling energy for 10 credits/ton. This is also good news for the fuel industry, as many traders will come to PASS EMP-04 for the cheap energy and will require fuel to leave again. The nearest planets are already preparing to buy lots of energy. I have heard that many workers are on the way to help. Surely we will see some growth in population around this area.
Pirate Activity
Avraiml has been spotted in Quator and Eta Cassiopeia, pirating. Fortunately, people like The Imperial Order of Paladins exist to send them back to their homeworld. Some nice work by Shishi and TheOldOne sent Avraiml packing. Ex-The Chaos Order member eli rob has also been killing pilots in Keldon space and, not so surprisingly, has joined the Mooninites. He promptly got tired of dying, and joined Conglomo. Good luck getting together all the reparations.
Quietscheente has been trying to make his way to Ska, unsuccessfully, to harass Imperial alliances there.
If you hear of any pirate activity, report it to our hotline at Pirate Hotline
New Buildings and Demolitions
Another quiet week. Starbase owners must be feeling better now that the rash of destructions has come to a stop.
Alliance News
P.o.t.w.o.r., the 10th largest alliance in the Universe, switched leaders last week. wildcard stepped down and Fahron stepped up. P.o.t.w.o.r. is based in Eastern Ska'ari Cluster, most notably in Lamice.

Interviews
This week we talk with Sharpeye of FTS. He specifically requested to allow the Federation side of the Ghost Town debacle to be heard. In an exclusive interview here is what happened.
MG> As a member of FTS, you played a big hand in ending tensions at Ghost Town. Then a member of your own alliance blew it up. Was this a ploy to get Imperial's to leave?
Sharpeye> No, as a matter of fact I was as surprised as anyone. I sent communications informing both FTS and the Federation with my report on the issue and my recommendation to allow The Enigma to trade in Siberion. He seemed willing to work within the Federation guidelines
MG> You specifically asked to be interviewed after reading last week's issue. Did you take issue with something Imperious said about the incident?
Sharpeye> Not that I took issue with anything said. But I felt there was info that the Empire should know. Of course I understand the confusion as I was shocked at first. So I went straight to the Federation communications office to find out what happened to my messages. Well the little weasel clerk there wasn't very cooperative. He confirmed that FTS received their copy but wouldn't comment on the message to Federation high command. I started yelling at him so he went off to find his supervisor. Just what I was hoping for. I quickly sat at his desk and began poking around. I never found out what happened to my communications but I did find something I didnt know earlier. The Enigma knew about the pending attack. After I left Siberion thinking this was over The Enigma received a communication from Rear Admiral Blade Star. The Enigma confirmed that he knew the attack was coming and evacuated the inhabitants of Ghost Town
MG> I know he was warned, but do you know if this was before or after the blockade ended?
Sharpeye> It was after the blockade. The Enigma showed me the message he recieved while we negotiated his compensation
MG> I have to commend FTS on paying compensation. It was an honourable gesture in the face of what had happened.
Sharpeye> Commend Blade Star. He paid it.
MG> Do you believe Siberion is cursed now? The recent starbase erected was destroyed when the new owner committed suicide.
Sharpeye> (laughter) When Timage built his Starbase FTS was looking for a member that might want the place. We got no takers. I think Siberion was cursed long before the Ghost Town incident. Maybe dating back to when Admiral Ayanari lost it.
MG> What do you think is the next step in Imperial/Federation relationships? Tensions still run high and I am daily confronted with hostility from both sides. People talk of war daily now.
Sharpeye> I learned a lot from Ghost Town. Because of it, I have had a chance to work with the Imperial Guard. They are a good group of people and mostly share my ideals. But there is enough untrust on both sides that a real peace will take a lot of work.
MG> As you know most of my readership is of Imperial origin. Is there any message you would like to relay to them?
Sharepeye> Only that we aren't as different as they think. I have traveled most of the known galaxy except for Imperial space. I plan to correct that and visit soon.
MG> Then I'll thank you for your time and get back to my duties with the Guard.
Sharpeye> It's I that thanks you for seeing me .
And with that, we parted ways, hopefully seeing a peaceful future, rather than a war-torn universe.
Keldon Cutie
This week I finally found a Keldon girl. Janisss SSSeymour is doing a war dance just for Reimer. She enjoys hunting pirates, drinking Keldon ale, and dancing on men's hearts. What a catch!
