Part 3

Having restocked, with a quick check on my AP meter I decided to try exploring further out. The Keldon sector is reasonably developed, and so I was never really out of sight of buildings. Regardless, I made sure to stay in open space, knowing that other fields would drain my APs faster. Cursed laws of Pardusian physics… why ever would APs (or lack of them) prevent me from going about my business? Also, keeping to open space has the additional benefit of providing emergency hydrogen fuel in case you’ve not been watching your fuel gauge. I knew it would be alright as long as I kept an eye on the meter and stayed close to inhabited space.

Rumors were Keldana II usually had food shortages, being the barren ice rock it is, but not one of my previous instructors could ever pinpoint its exact location to me. Nevertheless, it didn’t take me long to find the planet. A quick tip – I’ve found that planets or starbases are usually surrounded by clusters of other buildings, so a good way to find them in unfamiliar sectors might be to look for more developed areas.

Once again, the returns on the food weren’t great. I would later find out that food prices in Keldana I are considered to be on the high side and don’t usually net much profits. However, traders have reported specific routes involving Keldana I that do carry good deals. Try accessing the forums through the onboard computer for more information!
