Volume 29

All the news that's fit to print, first!
From the Editor's Desk
It's hard to even write this week after the week I and my colleagues have had. The news must be reported though, and so it is with a heavy heart that I go about my duties.

General News
Exotic Crystals in Edenve! These mysterious crystals have caused quite a stir in the Lane cluster since they first appeared. Well over 70 pilots have been seen in the area, and competition for the rare and valuable crystals is intense. Time will only tell what uses can be made of these valuable and highly coveted anomalies.

Imperius Blackheart was lost at space this week while on a routine excursion into Lane, and through a nefarious plot of the Union, it also happened to have the Imperial Guard dissolved, after all their communications equipment was stolen, and any channels they used scrambled, leaving the remaining guardsman in disarray. This left the Empire in disarray but not unprotected, as the Imperial Paladins were still in force. Mourning over the lost hero was heard all over the Keldon homeworld and throughout the Empire. Later a slightly more honourable Union Pilot returned the Guard their coms channels and arranged to have all jamming stopped. The question now is what will happen with the enigmatic leader MIA.

Soul of Dipstick (aka TheEnigma) is once again causing a stir in faction space. This time the always odd, and very rarely successful pilot decided to try to make the Starbase "Black Pearl" into an Empire holding. Once again, as with his last debacle of Ghost Town, Union members are up in arms and threats have been made. Ideally something better will come of this situation than the last, with similar arguments and propositions being made from both sides. It would be horrible if another 20 thousand lives were lost over one beings folly.

In an odd twist this week, communication consoles appear to have reversed themselves, causing confusion and questions among pilots as to why and how this happened?

I would like to hereby register a formal complaint for slander against my name.

You will be hearing from my lawyers shortly.

In particular, I would like to say the general lack of Imperial support for a Starbase in Union territory was quite shocking, and I had to go all the way to the Emperor himself to get myself heard. Utterly disgraceful, I must say.

At least He had something to say on the subject, and my meeting with Him managed to smooth things over.
