Welcome to This Week In The Empire

From the Editor's Desk
So we are finally back to a universe officially at war, called "The War of Discord" (who names these things anyway?) For the first time in modern history, the Empire is not one of the combatants and I couldn't be more pleased. Watching from the sidelines as the Union finally stands on it's own against their handlers from the past is a beautiful thing. I've been pulling long hours with Guard duties, so again no interview. TWITE is always looking for talent though to provide our Imperial readership insights into the universe.

General News
Yesterday, Under contract to Tempest, The Game led an assault on a military outpost in Pass-Uni 06, assisted by 4 members of Tempest, while the remaining Tempest forces simultaneously attacked a military outpost in Pass-Uni 07. After breaching the pass, Alvin was ambushed by Union forces but survived. The Game killed one ambusher who had retreated, as The Game was not blocked by the outposts. A second ambusher fled the scene.

After testing defenses, The Game targeted a 13 Defense Droid avenger outpost in the pass. The Game and Federal forces attacked the outpost, eventually destroying it without casualties. One additional defender was also killed by The Game. The Game was also responsible for eleven of the thirteen modules destroyed on the military outpost, so the Federation was denied credit for most of this attack.

Several pilots from The Game later went to Pass-Uni 07 to assist Tempest in their attack, which was slow due to lack of robots for repairs. The Game managed to get the military outpost destruction in Pass-Uni 07 as well.

Later last night, Federal forces also assaulted Nittany Station. Unfortunately member of the Admiralty did not bring enough ships to force the surrender of the base, and for some reason were hesitant to destroy it. When the Union defense forces assembled, a bold move was made to remove Zanth from command and insert Sweetness as commander of Nittany station. Sweetness in short order had some base defenses back online, preventing the capture of the base, but it's unclear still as to why the base was not destroyed. I am sure that Federal command will not make this mistake again, and ensure they have both squad, and ship superiority in all starbase battles.

Imperial News
Empire officials are outraged over the discovery that a fleet of Behemoths licensed to the Union have been dumping large amounts of toxic waste into some of the Empire's remoter territories. This obscene act of irresponsibility was witnessed firsthand by several Empire militants performing practice missions in unpopulated areas. The noxious mess has been confirmed to be a concoction of some of the most volatile substances found in the universe, compounded with unstable radioactive materials, causing many organisms to perish, sicken, or behave erratically. Clearly faction relations will suffer along with the life forms afflicted by this disaster. In no way should this be taken as a preclude to hostilities though. Please watch next week for one of our environmental reports.

Ruby Legion were forced to retake Draconia from an inactive commander. The base was falling into such disrepair it was in danger of falling apart. With no pay, many workers had left the station and almost no one was left to tend to maintenance. It is now under the command of Amasonka.

Famous Pirate members have been spotted in the Western Ska'ari Core. Fly safe if you are visiting that area.
